Traditional software engineering has come across questions that touch on philosophical questions of various flavours. We've seen this through data privacy issues, cybersecurity as well as algorithmic development and what has been shown or hidden to users. Think social media apps, dating apps, health systems.

AI takes these further and introduce a wider scope of questions to be asked. Some of the issues uniquely with AI is the potential abstraction of software engineers away from what has been developed, can be developed, and how traceable AI actions are compared to systems that have traditionally been more deterministic.

The dimensions of memory, action, responsibility, reality, and meaning set a good starting place to explore these philosophical questions, but I think it's important to get a good understanding of how these questions across these dimensions were being asked before AI came into the picture as well.
