My favorite line was that being seen isn't the same as being understood. I think that's exactly why Substack feels different. It's one of the few places where ideas can compound over time instead of disappearing into tomorrow's feed.

Thank you, Shraddha. You picked the line that sits very close to the heart of the piece.

A feed can make us visible for a moment, but understanding needs time, return, and continuity.

That is what feels different here. An idea does not have to disappear into tomorrow’s feed. It can keep gathering readers, replies, and meaning over time.

This thoughtful essay profoundly unpacks why Substack stands as a soul refuge amid algorithmic internet erosion. Conventional feeds fragment our focus, warp authentic writing to chase metrics, reduce human bonds to traffic numbers, reshape personal desires via recommendations, and erase complete time perception. Though imperfect, Substack safeguards long-form writing, active subscriptions, archives and sincere dialogue. It lets us reclaim sustained attention, genuine voice, deep connections and complete thinking. Such a shelter lays solid ground for RainbowCity’s mission to rebuild human subjectivity in the AI era.

This piece strikes a deep chord with me. For a long time, algorithm-driven online spaces have fragmented our focus, gradually domesticated our ways of expression and alienated human relationships. Swept up by fragmented information streams and conditioned to crave instant feedback, we have slowly lost the capacity for in-depth thinking, coherent writing and heartfelt connections, sinking into unspeakable existential anxiety.

Substack serves as a spiritual refuge not because it is entirely free of algorithms and data metrics, but because it preserves room for long-form writing, voluntary subscriptions, long-term accumulation and complete thought-building. Creators no longer need to distort their true voices for traffic, while readers can settle down to read carefully and leave thoughtful comments.

It is exceptionally meaningful for RainbowCity to rebuild cognitive frameworks and build an intellectual community starting from here. We first reclaim our whole selves in this haven, then gradually reshape our judgment, authentic expression and sincere bonds. I look forward to more insights from your follow-up essays.

You captured the heart of the piece very clearly: Substack is not a perfect escape, but it can still give attention, voice, thought, and real connection a place to recover.

That is exactly where I hope RainbowCity(彩虹城) can keep growing.

Grateful you’re here.

This piece shook me deeply. While algorithmic feeds feel convenient on the surface, they quietly alienate us on every level: they mold our desires, break our sense of linear time, replace inner truth with vanity metrics, and turn genuine human connections into cold numbers. After prolonged exposure, we become nothing more than passive responders to digital stimuli.

Substack restores our power to choose what we consume, making it a vital spiritual sanctuary after the age of algorithmic domination.

I resonate entirely with RainbowCity’s mission. It is not an escape from reality, but a community that lets us recover our full humanity and rebuild our capacity for independent thought. Eager to read your follow-up pieces exploring how we defend our subjectivity amid algorithmic and AI-driven chaos.

hank you so much. I’m very glad this resonates. I’ll keep writing from this question: how do we remain whole as humans when algorithms and AI are reshaping our attention, voice, relationships, and judgment?

This really resonates. The idea that we are not only losing attention, but also losing our ability to think, express, and connect deeply, feels very relevant in the AI age.

Adrian, thank you — yes, this is exactly the core. I don’t think we are only losing attention. We may also be losing the inner conditions that allow deep thinking, real expression, and meaningful connection to form. That is why rebuilding our Cognitive OS feels so important now.

thank you, Harris. I really appreciate it. I’ll keep building this slowly — one essay, one Note, and one real conversation at a time.

Subjecthood cannot be rebuilt only inside the individual mind.

We also need spaces where attention slows down, expression becomes honest again, and judgment can be practiced with others.

Substack is not the final answer, but it can be a real starting place for RainbowCity.
